Not getting results when doing West Palm Beach marketing

YouTube Preview Image YouTube Preview Image

If your trying to do some West Palm Beach marketing then you probably realize that it is becoming more difficult to get results from your marketing efforts.  The problem is that people are not using the traditional advertising mediums any more.   Local (West Palm Beach) businesses that are marketing in the yellow pages are getting a fraction of the results they got from that medium in the past.  According to a local business owner in West Palm Beach that markets on the yellow pages:  ”using the yellow pages for my west palm beach marketing efforts has gotten me little to no results” Les Trafelet.

Why your not getting results when West Palm Beach marketing

The reason why local businesses in West Palm Beach that are marketing in the yellow pages are getting less business from their yellow page advertising is because people are searching more and more in Google to find a local businesses (like plumber west palm beach) and not the yellow pages.  What this means is that you can spend thousands of dollars in yellow page advertising and not get any results and even worse you can start doing some West Palm Beach marketing online by using Google advertising and not get any results because all your doing is sending your prospective client back to your web page, where they can get confused and overwhelmed by all the choices, and not a landing page with a simple clear message like join our email marketing list or fan our Facebook Fanpage in order to get some more valuable information.

I had mentioned earlier that some people turn to Google advertising as a quick fix and my response to that is why pay Google for advertising when Google is already serving up local information in it free search results (people are up to five times more likely to click on the free results than the paid for advertising anyway), as a matter of fact even if somebody is not typing in local words Google will still give you local search results back.  So why are you not taking advantage of this FREE advertising opportunity, especially when we know that 60% of all local searches on Google turn into a sale.

There are three solutions to the West Palm Beach marketing problem above: article marketing, podcast marketing and video marketing.

Strategy 1 – Article marketing: The article that you are reading right now is an example of article marketing.  What I did first is, I posted this article to my blog (a very important first step is to get a blog because we know that “companies with a blog average 68% more customers than companies that don’t have a blog” – HubSpot) and then I broadcasted the article out to about 250 different article directories to increase my West Palm Beach Marketing reach.

Stratety 2 – Podcast marketing: Podcasting allows you to create your own private channel for your customers.  What happens is that when somebody finds value in your content they subscribe to your podcast feed so that every time they login to ITunes they automatically get whatever new podcast you have uploaded.  That podcast can be an audio file, a video file, or even a pdf, so your customer has many ways to consume your content.  The final reason why you want to deliver your content via podcast is because we know that “60% of Podcast users make over $50,000 per year” so the podcast user tends to be an affluent customer.

Domination of first page results

Strategy 3 – Video marketing: Video marketing allows you to tap into the medium on the internet that is “about 60% of all internet traffic” – Hubspot.  Not only are there a lot of people using this new medium but it is a great way for you to develop a know, like, and trust relationship with your potential customer before they ever walk in the door to meet you.  Finally, the other great thing about video is that Google is showing video thumbnail pictures in the Google search results.  What do you think somebody is going to click on when they are searching for something on the internet, a picture, or a text link that looks like a tax audit????  I think somebody is going to click on the pretty picture myself.

Internet Marketing with YouTube

If you are interested in internet marketing or web video and spend any amount of time on YouTube, you know that one of the most important things you can do to build a community around you or your product or business is to get subscribers to your channel.  The problem is that it can take a lot of time and work to increase the number of subscribers to your YouTube channel.  You can literally spend your entire day subscribing to other channels, sending private messages, etc. in order to get new subscribers to your channel.

Additionally, it can take hours looking through the channels to find a people that are interested in the same things you are or that are a match for the content your broadcasting.

Internet marketing insight

Wouldn’t it be great if you could automatically send out friend invites to YouTubers in your age group that have certain keywords (keywords that you choose) in their bio’s, that are active on YouTube (they have logged on to YouTube within the last week, they have a certain number of friends, they have a certain number of subscribers and they have a certain number of uploaded video’s).  Also, wouldn’t it be great if you could send out messages to the people that subscribe to you all without breaking any of YouTubes terms of service….  Well you can with a tool called Tube Toolbox.

Internet marketing with tube toolbox

Tube Toolbox (go to http://www.ryansteinolfson.com/tubetoolbox for my affiliate link) is a great internet marketing tool.  I spend about 4 minutes a day gathering people in a list that I will send a friend request to.  I then spend another 4 minutes sending the friend requests and finally I spend about 20 minutes a day following up with all the people that comment on my channel and video’s after visiting my channel. I do search marketing in South Florida and I have been exposed to tons of search engine optimization techniques for getting on the first page of Google. There’s social bookmarking, article marketing, back-linking, blog commenting etc. etc. I’ve done them all. Most SEO strategies are very complicated and a lot of the techniques take a long time to implement.

Take for example article marketing…you have to write an article, submit the article to an article directory (sometimes it does not get approved and if it does it can take up to three weeks for the article to get approved), you have to put your links in the article (sometimes the article directory makes the links no-follow so you get no benefit at all from the links after all the effort) and finally you have to make sure that you use a compelling title and resource box etc. That is just one technique.

Before you start with the more complicated search marketing techniques listed above make sure you take a look at your title tag and your description for your web site. If your site is already getting spidered on a regular basis (if you site is older than 6 months old than it is most likely getting regular spider visits about every week) than all you need to do is add your keywords to the title tag and description of your site and most of the time (if you have good keyword relevance) your web site ranking for that keyword will jump up significantly in a very short amount of time.

This is exactly what I found with a client that I recently helped get to the top of Google. The client told me that they wanted to get on the first page of Google for 5 keywords. At the time they told me this they were on page 7 through 10 for about three of the keyword and they did not use any of the mentioned keywords in either their title tag or description, and they were a PR 5 site. I added the 5 keywords to their title tags and in incorporated them into their web sites description, added a Google site map to their site, and uploaded it to Google via Google webmaster tools and within a week I had them on the fist page for one of the keywords and the second page for 4 of them!

When editing your title and description please remember that you have about 65 character to use in the title tag and about 150 to use in the description. Go use your keywords in both your title tag and description and watch your Google ranking soar just like I do for my search marketing clients in south florida.

Why Web Video

by Ryan Steinolfson on June 10, 2010

Why video?
Whew, I don’t know where to start! Let me begin with the bottom line:
Video converts prospects like no other medium in the history of advertising, period.  Now before I start flinging statistics, let’s just speak logically:
Video utilizes full visual and audio power. It uses not a phone, print, or website; but dynamic, high tech visuals and audio that irresistibly seduces the prospect into taking action. The persuasion power difference is utterly obvious. Are you more inclined to buy a candy bar by reading words about it, or by seeing tantalizing close ups of it while listening to a sultry voice describe how delicious it is?
Video consumption naturally caters to the viewer. The fact is that humans are instinctive and lazy. We don’t want to exert attention to read something we haven’t asked for. This has been the primary hurdle for all advertising. Video is the godsend for this problem, as streaming video requires no reading effort, and immediately attracts the viewer’s instincts (who doesn’t start watching at least the beginning of video media?).
Video establishes rapport. Especially at the local business level, the prospect gains a feel for the good-nature of the seller, thus establishing the all-important initial bond with the prospect. As a result he feels an odd commitment to follow up with the seller.
Video is free of pay-per-click risk. Every PPC user knows how pay per click arbitrage cripples their advertising budget. The paid for clicks cost more than they’re worth, and they are often not legit. There’s very little that can stop it…except video. If your video media is not bound to a PPC structure, then you are immune to fraud!
Video is now affordable. Until now, television commercial costs reserved their use for large companies. The internet has made this playing field flat! It is no longer who has the most money, but who can best leverage current technology.
Video versus everything else.  Of surveyed moviegoers…
48% watched little or no TV at all.
49% don’t subscribe to newspapers.
46% don’t subscribe to magazines.
52% listen to little or no radio.
This gives interactive media a distinct advantage over other platforms.” –Comscore
OK, now for a few statistics. Buckle your seatbelts, be stunned, then pause and really think about what these numbers mean:
Prospects are 3-4 times more likely to respond to a video rather than written words. -Comscore
Of the 80% of viewers that have watched a video, 52% have then taken some action on its content. -Kelsey Group
People remember 10% of what they read, but 50% of what they hear and see.  -Burst Media
Scorching case studies:
“According to Alexis Martin, owner of MyCubanStore.com, a niche business that sells Cuban clothing and items, the recent video they ran on their home page provided a 287 percent return on investment. ‘Our video outperformed Yahoo, MSN and Google PPC, plus my newsletter,’ Martin says.” -Jim Kukral of Revenue
“DiscoveryStore.com recently tested out a video for a Mother’s Day promotion. The results were a 78 percent increase in revenue. -Jim Kukral of Revenue
So there you have it.
If you’re not advertising with video, you’re not advertising.

Check out the screenshot below.  Is that 1st page domination or what?

Notice the video thumbnails in the Google results

If you have a great web site but do not have any traffic then what is the point?  Web video marketing allows you to target you clients when they are looking for you online and it also allows you to put yourself in front of your client and not just a bunch of text.  Additionally, people are much more likely to click on a picture then they are a link… that is exactly how Video shows up on Google results… video shows up as a picture and is much more likely to get clicked on then just plain text.  Get the picture???

One of the questions I commonly get is do I need a web site to get business from the internet? The answer to that question is invariably NO!
The reason why I say that is because 70% of what is being consumed on the internet is video. If you create valuable video content (content that your customers want to consume) then you can broadcast that content just like a TV station broadcasts a TV show the only difference is that your in control and your the one that determine who finds your content.
How great is that??? The TV stations are losing their monopoly on what we watch just like the record companies lost their hold on how we purchase music.
So if your ready to do some serious web video marketing or internet marketing then call me at 561-309-0050.
