One of the biggest challenge areas our agency, Accelerate Marketing, has identified when it comes to getting reviews for a business, is making it easy for the person to know where to go in order to leave that business a review. There are a couple steps identified here that will help double your reviews!

Okay. My name is Ryan Steinolfson, and I believe that we are live now. Hopefully you're able to hear me. I'm actually going live on Facebook as well and what I'm going to be talking about today or what I am talking about is how to double the number of reviews that your business is getting. We've been in this business of reputation management marketing now for going on almost a decade and my agency, Accelerate Marketing, what we do is we help businesses leverage digital marketing strategies in order to become the standout business in their niche or in their area.

One of the areas that we help them in, in addition to a few others, is reputation management marketing. The biggest challenge that we've identified in the past almost decade here is in terms of getting reviews, the biggest challenge that businesses have is actually allowing the person to know where to go in order to leave that business a review. So the biggest challenge is for the client or customer or patient of a particular business to just know where to go.

I'd say raise your hand and let me know by showing your hand if you know where to go to leave a business a review on Google, but every time I ask this question, when I go and I speak at different places around the country, 9 times out of 10, people don't know where to go to leave a review on the all-powerful, almighty Google, which is where 70% of people go to find out what your reviews are and what people are saying about your business. Doesn't it make sense to go where people are going to find out what people are saying about your business?

The key then is to make this process very, very easy. That's the biggest key that I can give you. There's one way to do that. What we've done is we've created what we call a naked link. The reason why we call it this is because there's no protection between you and that person that wants to leave you a review on Google. That's why we call it a naked link. In other words, there's no firewall.

There's initial question that's asked that says, “Hey would you recommend us?” Just understand that, that this is one of the most powerful tools, yet it's one of the most challenging tools for some businesses because they don't really know how to implement or integrate this tool into their business, so that when that, what we call referable moment happens, they can insert this tool at that moment when that referable moment has been created by something that they've done.

Then that person, that employee can then text this link to them and thereby make it very, very easy for that person to leave a review. Let me just show you what I am referring to when I say a naked link. Let me just show you my phone. I'm going to share my screen. I'm going to show my phone. Hold on one second. Let me just go here. Okay. It makes it so much more powerful when I can actually show you what's going on here. Let me just go and show you.

If I go here and I go to … ah, let me see. Here's my email. I just sent myself this email. Here's an email for … it's basically just a test email that I sent to myself. Here's the link. This is what it looks like. It's for one of our customers, and basically what it does is it's just what we call a naked link. Here's another one. I'm going to send you this. I'm going to show you this. This is the link right here, and I'm going to click on it.

Then you'll notice … well what happens? What happens when I do this? It takes me directly to where somebody needs to go to in order for them to leave your business a review. All they have to do is just simply tap on their phone right here and then start leaving a review. I mean, how easy is that? That's how easy it is. You can make it so the stars are already pre-populated but most of the time, you can't get it to generate that way. Just know that this is a very, very powerful way for somebody to leave your business a review. Why? Because it gets around the hassle of somebody having to go and search and use Google Maps in order to find your business, look you up.

If you can just get this link to them either via email or via text message while they're in front of you, then you immediately cut through one of the biggest challenges that people have with leaving a business a review. There's another way that we can actually get a review and we call it our sign-in form. So the way that the sign-in form works is when somebody … here, let me show you my laptop again. Here's an example of a sign-in form for one of our property management companies. You can see here, what someone needs to do is just put in their name, email, and mobile phone number.

Why do we ask for the email and mobile phone number is because we want to be able to send them up to three emails and three text messages over a certain period of time so that we can get that person's review. That is what we do. This is the second way for us to get reviews outside of using the Google naked link that I just showed you. I'm going to show you my screen again on my phone. There you go. Here's that sign-in form link.

Now this is what somebody gets after they put their name, email, and phone number in on that sign-in form on the previous screen, and you can see here, it sends them a link. I'm clicking on the link, and then this takes us to this one question which is, “Would you recommend us?” Yes or no? You'll notice again that the naked link that I just sent you or that we just showed you did not have that. This is something that you can implement in your business in order to first ask somebody a question of, “Would you recommend us?” If they say “yes,” then it simply takes them directly to where they can leave you a review on Google. If they say “no,” then it would take them to where they would be able to fill in a like, “Who helped you? What happened? How can we make it better next time?”

I hope that makes sense. There's two ways that I showed you here, just to kind of review. There is the naked link, which you can just send to somebody via either email or text message when they're in front of you and you know that you've created or generated that referable moment, which by the way, there's about an hour of what we call a window of reciprocity where that person will feel very obligated to do something for you that's nice, like leave you a review. That's why it's so important to build what we call your review culture and we do that at our company.

It's one of the things that makes us really unique is that we pride ourselves on being able to get amazing results because we do a lot of culture review training with our property management companies who we primarily work with and with other companies that we work with in order to get amazing results. I'll show you some of the results here really quick. But first, let me share the second way, just to summarize, is that sign-in form where the person puts their name, email, and phone number in. We then send them three emails, three text messages, over a certain period of time, and that's how we get the reviews, is by sending that email and text messaging sequence.

We ask them that almighty question which is, “Would you recommend us?” That's the difference between the sign-in form and the naked link. Naked link, there's no question. Sign-in form, there is that initial question. I hope that makes sense. Let me just go here, and let me show you some of the examples. If you go to for example “property management, Round Rock” who would you choose here? I mean GDA is a great choice. Well, we work with them. They got 255 reviews in a very short period of time. It makes them the very clear choice on Google Maps which is where your Google My Business listing is going to show up here.

Every business in the world has a Google My Business page. This is where that Google My Business page gets to show up here and it's not just the star rating that you have, it's the number of reviews that you have and how recent those reviews are, so you want to have a process that allows you to have a continual flow of reviews that are new reviews. Again, who would you choose here? Empire is a very clear choice. Why? Because they got a great star rating. They got a bunch of reviews, and these reviews, a lot of them are very recent.

Again, another one. In San Antonio, who are you going to choose? You've got two different companies here. One's got 182 reviews, and the other one has got 351 reviews. Both have about the same star rating. I'm going to go with whoever has got more review and whoever has the most recent reviews, and this is the one that we work with. Anyway, I hope that makes sense guys. Let us know if you have any questions.

If you want, you can send your name and email and we can even set up an appointment up with you to talk more about how we can help you with not only reputation management marketing, but also our other services like sales and marketing automation and Google and Facebook advertising for example, so that we can help you become the standout business in your local market, so that your phone is ringing and not your customers'. Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense. Let us know. Thanks.
